My New Web Site Is Up! You better love it.

So it seems that each year for the past 3 years since I have been maintaining a personal website, bryanantler.com, and with the improvement and help of point and click technology, my website keeps evolving with the usability, sleakness, and professionalism constantly improving.

Ok, I'm not trying to say my website is anything great, but it is in the 90%+ percentile of personal websites that have some creativity and style to them. Moreover, there was literally no experience needed to use the point and click software with minimal coding knowledge necessary.

I started off with Website Tonight by GoDaddy.com whiched worked initially for what I wanted to do, but then I can across a website creation company called wix.com. This site allows you to add all sorts of custom animation to spice up your site very much like animated PowerPoint presentation in the late 90's.

Wix.com is only $9.90 per month and you get plenty oh hosting space 1gb, and plenty of data transfer at 1gb per month.

This gets myself asking a question. Technology out there is getting us to the point where everyone can have a custom, professional website without knowing much more than how to use facebook. You don't have to spend a few thousand dollars to a web developer or know how to code yourself to build your own professional website.

If everyone can grow their web presence at fractions of what is cost 5-10 years ago should everyone embrace this idea? My take is absolutely. The stats show that over half of employers now perform Google searches on job candidates. If you have a strong personal website in Google search results for your name instead of drinking pictures from college on your facebook search result link you're probably much more likely to get hired.

At the end of the day, those that are successful build their name as a brand the most valuable of above all else. If people know who you are, you are increasing your personal brand value and therefore increasing your own value or put plainly, increasing your hourly-wage. When something in demand is scare, the price goes up like oil does, this is true as well in the labor markets.

So, go my flock, venture into the land of website design. I guarantee you it'd stimulate your brain, and you'll probably think it's actually pretty sick how good some website design sites are in the coming of Web 3.0.

Web 3.0 will be a discussion that continues. Please chime in on your take of what this will entail.
