Global I'm Hot!

Did it feel like summer came a month early this year to anyone else but me? Well that might be because June is the hottest month on record since they started keeping these records in 1894. The reality that the world is plummeting into uncontrollable maelstrom of of epic proportions has never been so clear.

Yes this is a rant on global warming, but a different slant. Think about all the different cultures on the Earth at one time or another that are now no more. The Babylonians, the Egyptians, the Romans, most countries in Europe at one time or another.

Now think about our modern society. Each different ruling class of the history of Man has left some sort of impression the history and sculpture of our planet. The pyramids still stand in Egypt, the Colosseum in Rome, and today, our modern society has left the greatest impression with our buildings and industrialization that has changed not only the face of the planet, but the balance of the planet's natural ecosystem as well.

The idea the damage done to the planet is repairable or minimal is naive at best, ignorant being the latter.

Remember, we are not changing our way of life. We are speeding it up daily, enabling a faster destruction of the planet with each passing day. China brings 3-6 new coal power plants each week! Greater wealth in the BRIC countries and the third world means a greater carbon footprint across the globe in absolute terms and per capita terms.

If there is any conclusion about this blog, it's that our modern society, while destroying ourselves in the process have created quite a mark on this planet that will stand for thousands of years after we are gone. Whoever shall inherit the Earth after us, perhaps millions or billions of years into the future will discover our fossils and perhaps wonder how a society so advanced scientifically and technologically could be possible of self-extinction.

You have to give the human race credit, we didn't slouch on the job ruining this Earth or "changing" it. We worked our hard little behinds off to make it happen.

Be merry, the 21st century is going to be a hell of a ride, unless we all get annihilated from that crazy 2012 idea. What did the Mayans know anyway?
